The Stone Bank Way: Be Responsible. Be Respectful. Be Ready. is our response to Positive Behavior Interventions and Services (PBIS). PBIS is a systematic approach to proactive, schoolwide behavior based on a Response to Intervention (RtI) model. Our program's intent is to increase academic performance through improved safety, effective student management and positive school culture.
Experiencing the natural consequences of inappropriate behavior and poor decision making is an integral piece of our student management system. By aligning our school with the PBIS philosophy, we also believe that modeling, and reinforcing positive social behavior is an important step of a student's educational experience. Teaching behavioral expectations and rewarding students for following them is a more positive approach than exclusively consequencing inappropriate behavior. The purpose of our school-wide PBIS is to establish a climate in which appropriate behavior is the norm.
Stone Bank teachers, support staff, and administration have gathered together to deliver a unified understanding of what it means to be responsible, respectful and ready to learn: The Stone Bank Way. By using common language in grades K4 through 8, we are able to be consistent throughout the building and through the years we spend with your child(ren).
