WRITE-IN CANDIDATE - Paperwork Due April 3, 2026, by 12 Noon

Write-in votes may only be counted if the write-in candidate has filed a Campaign Finance Registration Statement under s. 11.0202(1)(a) by no later than noon on the Friday immediately preceding the election.

Required paperwork for a write-in candidate:

  • Campaign Finance Registration Statement (Form CF-1):  A person who wants votes counted as a write-in candidate must file a registration statement.  This applies even if they are not raising or spending money.  The deadline is no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the Friday immediately before the election.  If they do not file this, any write-in votes for them cannot be counted.
  • Intent Letter:  Confirming the correct spelling of your name

There are limited office hours from March 30, 2026, to April 3, 2026.

Board of Canvassers Notice

The Board of Canvassers will meet on April 8, 2026, at the Stone Bank School Library starting at 5:30 p.m. to review and certify the election results of the April 7, 2026, Spring General Election.

  1. Certify the election of one School Board member
  2. Sign Statement of the Board of Canvassers and Determination of Person Elected 

Spring Election 2026 Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified electors of the Stone Bank School District that a school board election will be held on April 7, 2026. The two candidates with the most votes will each serve 3-year terms, and the candidate with the third-highest number of votes will serve a 2-year term. The candidates are Lisa Bucheger, Rebecca Pautsch, and Dan Arnold, in ballot order.

The polls will be open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. unless otherwise stated by the Municipality. The electors are directed to vote in their regular polling place.

  • Village of Lac La Belle - Crosspoint Church - Gym
  • Village of Chenequa - Chenequa Village Hall

2026 School Board Election: Notice of Incumbents Who Have Filed a Notification of Non-Candidacy

The following incumbent school board member(s), whose term of office expires in April 2026 and whose seat will be contested at the 2026 Spring Election, have filed a Notification of Non-candidacy, as provided under section 120.06(6)(b)3 of the state statutes.

We are now accepting applications for our School Board, with three open seats available. Serving on the board is a meaningful way to support students, staff, and our school community while helping guide important decisions.

Notice of School Board Vacancy - Spring 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held in the Stone Bank School District on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be filled to succeed the incumbents, Jim Tessmer, Lisa Bucheger, and Dan Arnold:

  1. Stone Bank School Board Member 3-year term
  2. Stone Bank School Board Member 3-year term
  3. Stone Bank School Board Member 2-year term

The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to the available seats. The two candidates with the most votes will each serve 3-year terms, ending April 22, 2029. The candidate with the third-highest number of votes will serve a 2-year term, ending April 23, 2028. All terms will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that a Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the office of the school district clerk or designee at N68W33866 County Road K, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a description of the school district boundaries can be obtained from the school district office or website. An acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote in this election. If you do not have a photo ID, you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Candidates May File Declarations of Candidacy

The deadline for declaring candidacy is 5:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday in January. In order to be eligible to appear on the official ballot at the Spring Election, a candidate needs to file a declaration of candidacy and a campaign finance registration statement with the filing office identified in the district’s Notice of Election by no later than this deadline. In some school districts, nomination papers with a sufficient number of signatures must also be filed in order to qualify for the ballot. Nomination papers may not be filed prior to December 1. The appropriate forms can be obtained from the websites of the Wisconsin Elections Commission and the Wisconsin Ethics Commission, or from the school district’s main administrative office.

WASB New School Board Member Gatherings

Held regionally around the state, usually in mid to late April. Please refer to the schedule on the WASB website (wasb.org) once it is available.

Persons Elected (or Re-Elected) to the School Board at the Spring Election Must Take and File the Official Oath of Office

On or prior to the fourth Monday in April, any school board member elected or re-elected to office at the spring election shall take and file the official oath. The school district clerk has authority to administer the oath of office. A notary public or other person with authority to administer oaths may also administer the oath to school board members. The forms of the oath are set out in s. 19.01. The Elections Commission maintains an official oath form (EL-154). Sections 19.01, 120.06(4), 120.06(10), 120.17(10), 120.42(2), and 887.01(1). The official oath shall be in writing and subscribed to and sworn to. The oath does not need to be administered at or in conjunction with a school board meeting. If desired, the oath may be administered orally in addition to the written oath (e.g., during an open session of a school board meeting), but such additional administration should be considered largely ceremonial. Section 19.01.

School Board Members Take Office

School board members elected at the spring election take office, provided they have taken and filed the official oath, on the fourth Monday in April. Sections 120.06(4) and 120.42(2).
