Partnering With Our Community
Our schools thrive because of the generosity, support, and belief of our community. The Board of Education is deeply grateful for the gifts, grants, and bequests that help enrich learning opportunities and strengthen our programs for all students.
We welcome community support that aligns with our mission and values. To ensure gifts are used responsibly and equitably, the Board retains the ability to define appropriate types of contributions and the manner in which they are made. When a gift is accepted, we make every effort to honor the donor’s intent while using resources in ways that best serve our students and schools.
Transparency and Appreciation
Approved gifts, grants, and bequests are formally acknowledged by the Board, and donors receive written recognition for qualifying contributions in accordance with federal guidelines. The District also provides appropriate documentation to support donors’ tax-related needs.
Responsible Stewardship
All accepted contributions become the property of the District and are managed in alignment with Board policies and administrative guidelines. When donors share specific wishes, the Board strives to honor those intentions whenever possible while maintaining responsible oversight of District resources.
To ensure student safety and operational consistency, any equipment proposed for use in schools, on District property, or at District-related events must be reviewed prior to purchase. The Board reserves the right to approve or decline the use of such equipment as part of its commitment to providing safe, effective learning environments.
The Board shall not discriminate in the approval and administration of gifts, grants, and bequests on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, sex (including transgender status, change of sex, or gender identity), or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability ("Protected Classes"). Complaints of discrimination in the acceptance or administration of gifts, grants, or bequests are governed by the complaint procedure outlined in Policy 2260.
